Electrical / Control Engineer

As PROBUS continues to innovate in hydro-mechanical systems for Oil & Gas, we are looking for an Electrical / Control Engineer (Machine Systems & Automation) to develop, commission, and maintain the electrical and control systems of our equipment.

Develop and refine the electrical and control backbone of our machinery. You will design and program automation systems, ensure reliable performance, and bring innovation to life through smart control solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical and control systems for machinery (power distribution, control panels, PLC, sensors, actuators).
  • Create wiring diagrams, control schematics, and specification documents.
  • Select electrical components (motors, drives, sensors, control modules) and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Program PLCs, HMI, and embedded control logic.
  • Commission and test control systems in-house and at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical/control faults in the field.
  • Work cross-functionally with mechanical and software teams for integrated system solutions.
  • Maintain control documentation, software versioning, and electrical schematics.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years (or more) experience in industrial automation, control systems, or electrical design for machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, etc.), HMI, sensor/actuator technology.
  • Competence in electrical schematics, wiring, grounding, EMC, safety standards.
  • Experience with control system commissioning and troubleshooting in harsh environments.
  • English language proficiency (German is a plus).
  • Willingness to travel for field commissioning.
